A Quick Fix for Feed Titles

I’m a proud supporter of HeadSpace2. It’s a great plugin that does wonders for my blog. It’s not perfect, though. I can’t seem to find anyway to fix my feed titles.

I decided to write a quick plugin to fix my feed titles. They used to appear like this:

gulati.info» Open For Questions
Comments for gulati.info» Open For Questions

This isn’t really want I want. I’m pretty picky about things, so I don’t like how the » is touching my site name. Also, I don’t really want the title of my recent post to appear in the title of the feed.

After applying my plugin, the titles appear like this:

gulati.info – web 2.0, web development, php, and more!
Comments for gulati.info

Much, much better. I have the description of my blog in the title of the RSS feed and I no longer have the titles of recent posts in either.

Download the Feed Titles Plugin

Just download the plugin, unzip it to your /wp-content/ folder, and then activate it. There are no configuration options – it will just set up your feeds as above.

This is only a temporary fix – I’m sure that John, the author of HeadSpace, will add an option for feed titles. I’m going to submit a feature request as soon as his feature request system is running again.

If you find this plugin helpful (or not helpful), please leave a comment. I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks!
