As you can probably see, the new design is up. I’m a little past schedule, but I’m still happy with how things turned out.

New site

What do you guys think of it? It’s not completely done yet, but rather this is the first fully functional version of it. I still have to make some changes and refine certain things. Here’s a(n incomplete) list of things that I still need to do:

1. Fix styles within post contents (headers, blockquotes, lists, etc)
2. Clean up comment forms
3. Add a few effects to the portfolio section (I’m not exactly sure how things are going to work, but I plan on making it at least somewhat visually appealing)
4. Make the way that post information (meta data, tags, categories, etc) is displayed more accessible
5. Add a few design elements that I had in the mock up but never coded
6. Create 404 page and other miscellaneous pages
7. Add search form

That covers the changes design-wise, but I also need to make a few changes content-wise:

1. Reorganize tags and categories. Every post from now on will fit into the current category “Personal”, I need to change this
2. Make sure that existing content works with the new style
3. Begin transferring content out to a new place (but that’s not into the new place is done)
4. Add portfolio entries (this not only includes writing the content and adding them to the system but also organizing all of the different sites that I have that are in varying conditions)
